10/22/12

We had a nice planning meeting Thursday at 7pm at the Oliver Wolcott Library.
It was decided we would hold the first performance at the Gunn Memorial Library at 5 Wykeham Road, Washington, CT on Saturday Dec 15 at 1:30, (now 1:00 pm) arriving there by 12:30 or 1pm. Snow date would be the next day Sunday 12/16. See the attached picture of the stage area of the GML Wykeham Room (in photo gallery).
The next performances are at OWL at 7pm Tuesday Dec 18 and Thursday Dec 20. Cast party at 68 South St after the 12/20 show.
Dec 6 does not look like a good rehearsal date for many, so it is cancelled. We considered Monday Dec. 3, but OWL is closed.
So we booked Thursday Nov 29 at 7pm, a week after Thanksgiving for the first rehearsal at OWL. We also kept Tuesday Dec 4 and added Thursday Dec 13 if a third date is needed, or for partial cast. If you can make at least two of the three rehearsals, that would be good.
All roles are set except young Ebenezer Scrooge. Alan and Elizabeth are contacting potential candidates.
A suggestion was made to collect small charitable contributions at the door to help the soup kitchen in the spirit of the play. Peter later asked Ann Marie, who said library policy would not allow that, so a community collection will not be made this way.
David suggested that the laptop be directly wired into speakers for sounds. (Last time Pete’s mike was off for one show)
Costumes such as scarves or top hats and outfits from 1843 (170 years ago) were discussed. 1939 outfits were also considered.
John Endicott printed a version of the script. Pete will have photocopies made if you need a copy to be left at OWL for you.
So everything looks good. See you on the 29th of November.
Pete

11/10/12  Post script: Pete must be in Rochester, NY on Nov 29.

He will try to return in time, but if not Bill Savoia will start the rehearsal and answer questions, etc.
